Gilbert Historical Museum

The Gilbert Historical Museum is located in the building that uses to be Gilbert Elementary School which opened in 1913. There are nine different exhibit rooms at the museum which has been open for over thirty years. These exhibits focus on aspects of the town’s past such as life in the Old West, occupations of the town and school life.

Gilbert Rotary Centennial Observatory

The observatory is managed and operated completely by volunteers. The telescope at the observatory is 16 inches in diameter and offers great views of the moon and planets such as Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. The observatory is open to the public every Friday and Saturday night, and it also opens for special astronomical events.
